Feed Branford Kids

In Connecticut, one of the wealthiest states in the U.S., nearly one in five children under age 18 is hungry or food insecure. Locally, nearly one in four children in Branford often goes hungry on the weekends. This shocking reality has prompted the Branford Food Pantry, a 100% volunteer-based, donation driven organization to launch the Feed Branford Kids program. This initiative, which is in partnership with the Branford Public Schools, provides kids in need with backpacks filled with non-perishable, kid-friendly foods that can be consumed during the weekend.

This program seeks to close the weekend hunger gap that affects many children during these crucial developmental years. The Kamran Farid Foundation is proud to support this program within the Farid family's home town of Branford.

Forest Elementary

Kamran Farid is a proud supporter and alum of Forest Elementary in West Haven, Connecticut. He credits the school to teaching him English when he was a young child. Now, many years later, Forest has an entire department dedicated to English Learning Language students! The Kamran Farid Foundation is pleased to donate funding for tablet and headset technology to help other young students learn English through interactive small group learning. These students will be preparing for a bright future!

Helping Hands

Students often experience barriers to completing their education, many of which are unexpected financial challenges that arise while juggling school, work, and family. In response to these hardships, Southern Connecticut State University's (SCSU) Professor Lisa Lancor and the Kamran Farid Foundation have partnered to create the Helping Hands Fund. The fund is dedicated to providing the necessary financial support for students at SCSU  that experience unexpected, short term financial hardships. The KF Foundation is thrilled to be a donor of the fund as it continues to support SCSU students from all walks of life.
